Bear With Us

created by Sam Rinaldi, Kimberly Bowman, Emma Plessala, & Adam Bittner

Final Project for Creative Strategy was to create a pitch deck for an Ad campaign that focused on a environmental issue. My group chose deforestation. This led Emma to come up with the idea based on her experience of growing up in California, of Bears entering her backyard and digging through her trash. We thought what’s the reason behind that? What are the effects of Bears entering residential neighborhoods? The team got to work led by the brilliant and dedicated Kimberly that of which she polished all of our ideas and made sure they were as clear as could be. Adam brought a unique way of thinking about problems to the team which allowed us to have many fascinating creative executions. I was in charge of ensuring all of our ideas logistically made sense in terms of maintaining brand consistency. I also came up with the final direction we chose to go with which was The Bear Broadcasting System. A news based advertising campaign that was from the perspective of Bears that informed humans on how to not attract them to neighborhoods and prevent Bears from eating trash, pet food, bird feeder pellets, etc. I also contributed a lot of design work. Such as ensuring the pitch deck was visually stunning and consistent, helping out with mock ups of our creative executions when they needed fixing.

This just in!  We’re on the lookout for food and we can smell your yummy trash, mmm trash yum, yum, yum trash.

If you don’t want us digging around and making a mess, store your garbage bins in “a garage or shed if possible, and only put them out the morning of pickup”

That’s not all we’re after… If you have bird feeders up we like the sweet smells that come out them. Bird feeders “attract bears and should especially be removed from March to November when natural food is available.”

Breaking news, there’s fruit that I see, fruit that I need. I love fruit I might just help myself.

If you don’t want me creeping your backyard and robbing you of your precious delectable fruits I suggest you pick up any fallen fruit. “Especially apples.”

I see you have even more yummy treats for me, that pet food you keep outside, that aroma is intoxicating, even the outdoor bowls I smell.

If you don’t want us stealing your pet food, “pet food should be provided indoors.” And you should “remove outdoor bowls immediately after feeding.”
